My husband and I used to make our larger meals in the evening. We would always try to have dinner together ever since we got married, but the problem was, we were gaining tons of weight because we made such huge meals. Nowadays, we still enjoy great meals, but we have toned it back a little. Thankfully, my husband’s schedule has changed a bit, too. So although he does sometimes work weekends, he also gets a lot of mornings or afternoons, or even full days off during the week. It gives us many opportunities to try new things, new restaurants, and new recipes at home.
One of the things we have decided to do is eat more sandwiches when we are home. Instead of filling up on big meals, sandwiches can be hearty and delicious without making us totally fat. Hahaha At first, we were both a little hesitant. We did not just want to be eating ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly or grilled cheese sandwiches. We wanted something heartier and with meat in it. Well, we searched Pinterest, and to our delight, we found that there are plenty of delicious options for a good sandwich made at home. We tried it and loved it!
