Excellent coconut cream pie recipe. I featured it as one of my desserts at my Christmas Eve Open House. Plenty of positive comments. It is quite rich, with a mild, natural coconut flavor.
This is a simple, delicious pie. I used a store-bought graham cracker crust, which complemented it well. I just sprinkled coconut on top instead of using whipped cream- which I didn’t miss at all.
This is a wonderful, rich recipe. The key is the toasted coconut. I whipped cream and lightly sweetened it for the topping. My only criticizm would be that it was a bit too rich and dense. Could be lighted up with half and half or some milk.
My son-in-law requested coconut cream pie for his birthday dinner so I tried this recipe and I’m glad that I did. It was excellent! I made mine in a 9×13 dish so I doubled the filling amount and it was perfect.
So good and rich! We like to use homemade whipped cream instead of the store brands, piped around the edges. Great recipe..a true cream pie.
I made this recipe for a family gathering. Everyone said it tasted just like my Aunt Betty’s pies. She passed away years ago. This definitely brought back a lot of memories for us! Thanks for posting it!
