Should we even be calling this dessert a “salad’? It looks like a cheesecake, to me.
Seriously, I need to get some opinions on this. Why did this dessert get dubbed a salad? Anyone know? I look at this dessert as a yummy cheesecake covered in strawberry jello. If any of you know the answer to this burning question please feel free to drop me a few lines in the comment section below. Great, now I won’t be able to sleep until I know how this dessert got its peculiar name. I’m weird like that. Things like jello run through my mind and keep me up at night LOL! Anyway, if you haven’t yet tried strawberry pretzel salad dessert you seriously need to stop what you’re doing and get on it right now!
I want to give a mega shout out to one of my fave food blog, Making Memories With Your Kids, for sharing this yummy recipe with us.
Check out what my friend Erin, from Making Memories With Your Kids, had to say about this wonderful recipe:
So Pretzel Jell-O Salad. Usually anything with Jell-O in it scares me a little. Maybe it’s because I OD’d on it in the 70’s. We had Jell-O everything back then. Yikes! But combine the saltiness of the pretzels, then a delicious, creamy cheesecakey layer and top it with Jell-O and strawberries? Yum!
That made me laugh out loud! I wasn’t born in the seventies but from what I hear, they sure did love their jello. Erin, thank you so much for sharing this fun vintage recipe with us. All of the dessert recipes from the Making Memories With Your Kids food blog are awesome.
