The Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole

Really good! For those of you asking about Why packaged gravy? Why canned biscuits? Make it how you want – this recipe is intended to be EASY. When you work 12 hours a day, have 3 kids to come home to, you need all the easy recipes you can get.

If you don’t like a recipe, change it or don’t make it. Oh, and I don’t even cook my own sausage but use pre-cooked Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles instead, Pioneer packaged gravy mix and Grands biscuits. I do saute some diced vidalia onion to add in.

Fantastic! I’m going to make this an annual feast. (Just wanted to reassure the food police that I’m not planning to ‘obesify’ myself or my family) I think it’s interesting that the creator was criticized by both sides of the aisle.

It continues to amaze me that people feel free to criticize the recipe maker AND infer that readers don’t have the sense to know whether or not to serve this to their family. I’ll say it again…. The dish was fantastic!

Yummy!! I made this last week and we loved it so much I am making two pans on Christmas for brunch for my large family. I used Pillsbury Grands Butter biscuits. ( they have visible flecks of butter in them). It’s a 14 oz. can. I used the entire can. I tore them into large pieces and scattered them on the bottom of the greased pan.


  • 1 lb sausage
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 packages Sausage Gravy Mix (makes 2 cups per package)
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 (5 oz) can evaporate milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tubes refrigerated biscuits
