Buttermilk cookies and gravy sausage

Ingredients:

  • 8 milk biscuits
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups half and half
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Brown the sausage in a large pot.
  2. Use a paper towel to remove most of the fat from the pan.
  3. Add flour, butter and half and half.
  4. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, for several minutes, until thickened.
  5. Add thyme, rosemary, red pepper flakes and black pepper.
  6. Serve it over warm cookies.
