Sweet potato pie is a simple recipe that’ll give you no stress and will be ready to serve within an hour. Whether you want to enjoy a treat at home or are preparing for a large ceremony, sweet potato pie will be just right for you
Ingredients:
- ½ cups of canned sweet potatoes, alternatively use 2-3 roasted, peeled, or pureed sweet potatoes
- ¾ cup of sugar
- 2 big eggs
- ¼ cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons of softened butter
- ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt to taste
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell, homemade or bought.
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix the sweet potatoes, a half cup of sugar, eggs, butter, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt with an electric mixer.
- Leave it to mix until it is blended, smooth, and without lumps.
- Pour the blended mixture into the pie shell and sprinkle with the remaining one-quarter of the sugar on it.
- Leave the pie to stay like that for 15 minutes before baking to allow the sprinkled sugar to melt well.
- Place in the oven to bake until it is done. You can check it after an hour.
- Leave it to cool before serving and enjoy the taste.
Tips:
- For you to know whether it is properly done inside of the pie, insert a toothpick in the center, when it comes out clean, then you can remove it from the oven.
